Flughafen Paderborn/Lippstadt
Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport is the home port for holidaymakers and business travelers from East Westphalia-Lippe and South Westphalia as well as the neighboring regions. Around six million people live in the catchment area, for whom the airport plays an important role in public infrastructure. In addition to scheduled and tourist flights, the range of services also includes business and private charter flights and freight traffic.
The airport is making its infrastructure available as a test field for the AeM Speedport project. Tests are being carried out there with remotely controlled or autonomously driving apron vehicles. In addition, the airport is setting up a 5G campus network to exchange data quickly and securely in the apron area in order to enable autonomous driving of aircraft tugs.
